Tigon Technology in focus at the Electric & Hybrid IVT Symposium on Nov 10
Huddigs CEO, Lars Lindahl will participate as a speaker at the IVT Symposium in Cologne, Germany on November 10th. The conference is the only one in the world that completely focuses on the design and development of electric and hybrid technology for construction, agricultural, industrial and off-highway industry.
Why do you think that Huddig has been invited to speak?
IVT and the industry in general has paid a lot of attention to our launch of the concept machine built on the technology “Tigon Technology”. We were asked very early on if pictures from our launch and from our descriptive films could be used in the invitation and program for the symposium.
We have actually showed a unique concept machine where we can operate both the propulsion and the working hydraulics with both the diesel engine and the electric battery, separately or together. We can also regenerate energy for the battery.
Tigon Technology was launched in April 2015. What has happened since then?
We have continued to do tests and measurements on the concept machine, but most all we have been working with key suppliers to develop some components and solutions adopted for Tigon Technology.
The concept machine has been shown statically at the “Svenska Maskinmässan 2016” exhibition in Stockholm and we have also operated the machine in our display at BAUMA 2016.
What is the plan going forward for Tigon Technology?
We are now in stage 2 of the project, where we will further develop the concept and test and evaluate the new or adopted components in a prototype machine. The intention is that we shall eventually evaluate machines on customer sites.
When will a Huddig equipped with Tigon Technology be available to buy?
I believe that this type of full hybrid will be requested in the near future by clients and companies that have an environmentally focus or profile. Our intention is to maintain a high pace in the development process and we expect to have machines out on customer sites in 2-3 years from now.
About the IVT Symposium:
The Electric & Hybrid Industrial Vehicle Technology Symposium, which takes place in Cologne from November 9-10, will be the world’s only conference exclusively dedicated to the design and development of electric and hybrid vehicle technology for the construction, agricultural, industrial and off-highway vehicle industry.
The symposium will bring together R&D engineers and heads of design and engineering from around the world to discuss, debate and analyze the growing possibilities and future developments for the hybridization and full electrification of construction, industrial and off-highway vehicles.
