  1. Damage must be reported as soon as possible by the policyholder. In exceptional cases, damage is reported by the workshop. When reporting, it is important to provide an account of what happened. Documentation and pictures must be attached.

Claims are reported to Länsförsäkringar using one of the options below:

If the workshop reports damage, Länsförsäkringar can provide the workshop with the following information based on the information provided:

    • Claim number
    • Is there valid insurance?
    • Applicable deductible
    • Possible age deduction on parts etc.
    • Possible reduction

Please note: Before a damage can be considered compensable, Länsförsäkringar must have received service history, hours, mileage and any deviations that may affect the compensability of the damage. It is important that documentation and photos are taken from the beginning and continuously during the repair phase. The workshop must notify whether goodwill has been sought (see point 3).

  2. In all contact with Länsförsäkringar, the workshop must use the current claim number.

  3. Please note: If there is a reason, the workshop should seek goodwill. For example, it could be a known fault, where there is a corrective action program, or a new machine with few operating hours. It is important to take photos from the beginning of each repair and document the damage continuously so that the goodwill and claims process works.

  4. The workshop prepares a preliminary estimate in CABAS and sends it to Länsförsäkringar, where a technician checks the estimate and decides whether the workshop can begin repairs or whether an inspection is required, and notifies the workshop accordingly. After this, an updated CABAS estimate must be sent to the technician as soon as a cost estimate is available.

  5. When the above has been done and there are no ambiguities, a notification will be given whether the damage is compensable, which will be communicated directly to the workshop.

  6. If the workshop finds more or other defects during ongoing repairs or that the damage is greater than previously determined, contact Länsförsäkringar should be made immediately to decide on continued handling and whether the insurance also covers this.

  7. After repair, Länsförsäkringar will invoice its share of the repair cost in accordance with the approved estimate, the remaining parts as below will be invoiced directly to the customer.
    • VAT
    • Deductible
    • Age deduction
    • Possible reduction

  8. The workshop will invoice the customer separately for any rental of a replacement machine. The customer will then return to Länsförsäkringar with a claim for compensation.

  9. If damage occurs during the warranty period, Länsförsäkringar refers to dealer /workshop in the first place.
