Detailed regulation and inspection process

  1. Damage is reported by the policyholder as soon as possible. In exceptional cases, the damage is reported by the workshop. When reporting, it is important to give an account of what happened. Documentation and photos must be attached.

Claims are reported to Länsförsäkringar according to one of the options below:

If the workshop reports a claim, Länsförsäkringar can provide the workshop with the following information based on the information provided:

    • Claim number
    • Existing insurance
    • Applicable deductible
    • Possible age deduction on parts, etc.
    • Possible reduction

Note: Before damage can be considered compensable, Länsförsäkringar must have been informed of the service history, hour and mileage figures and any deviations that may affect the compensability of the damage. It is important that documentation and photos are taken from the start and continuously during the repair phase. The workshop must notify whether goodwill has been applied for (see point 3).

  2. In all contact with Länsförsäkringar, the workshop must use the current claim number.

  3. Note: If there is a reason, the workshop should seek goodwill. For example, it may be a known defect, where there is an action program, or a new machine with few operating hours. It is important to take photos and document the damage from the beginning of each repair in order for the goodwill and claims process to work.

  4. The workshop prepares a preliminary estimate in CABAS and sends it to Länsförsäkringar, where a technician checks the estimate and decides whether the workshop can start repairs or whether an inspection is required, and notifies the workshop accordingly. After this, an updated CABAS calculation should be sent to the technician as soon as a cost estimate is available.

  5. Once this has been done and there are no doubts, a decision is made as to whether the damage is compensable, which is communicated directly to the workshop.

  6. If, during the repair, the workshop finds more or other faults or that the damage is greater than previously stated, Länsförsäkringar must be contacted immediately to decide how to proceed and whether the insurance also covers this.

  7. After repair, Länsförsäkringar will invoice its share of the repair cost in accordance with the approved calculation, the remaining parts as below will be invoiced directly to the customer.
    • Moms
    • Deductible
    • Age deduction
    • Possible reduction

  8. The workshop will invoice the customer separately for any rental of a replacement machine. The customer then returns to Länsförsäkringar with a claim for compensation.

  9. If damage occurs during the warranty period, Länsförsäkringar will refer to dealer in the first instance.
