Huddig presents its second sustainability report covering the financial year 2024
Maskin Väst's press release on LinkedIn:
The acquisition is part of Maskin Väst's strategy to grow in the construction and forestry segments, focusing on the strong brands Huddig and Rottne.
"With the acquisition of Skogstorpa Maskin, our geographical area is growing significantly, especially when it comes to Huddig. We get a strong presence around the whole of Lake Vänern, which gives Huddig customers in the area access to our entire range of machines, service and support. We also continue to build on our offer in Rottne", says Jesper Söder, CEO of Maskin Väst.
The acquisition means that Maskin Väst takes over the sale of new machines from Huddig in the area and becomes a partner for after-sales services such as service, spare parts and repairs. Through the establishment in Trollhättan, Maskin Väst strengthens its position in the area around Lake Vänern - an important region for Huddig. At the facility in Trollhättan, in addition to the sales that already take place, they will also offer service of Rottne machines under their own auspices.
"Two workshop technicians and a spare parts manager are joining us from Skogstorpa Maskin, which ensures continuity and local expertise. We are working on the recruitment of a site manager and a Huddig salesperson for the plant in Trollhättan. Our Rottne salesperson in the Gothenburg area will continue to be based in Kungsbacka, but will spend a lot of time in Trollhättan where the integrated service workshop will be an important hub for our customers", Jesper continues.
Östen Eriksson has been active in Skogstorpa Maskin since 1976 and took over as owner in 1992. He is now winding down for retirement and sees the acquisition as valuable for both customers and the company.
"It feels good that the business here in Trollhättan lives on in the spirit of Maskin Väst. We have worked side by side for many years and share the same values about how we want to conduct business and work with our customers. It is with a warm hand that I now hand over to Maskin Väst," says Östen Eriksson.
"Skogstorpa Maskin is a fine and reputable company within the Huddig community, and it feels both honorable and inspiring to take on the work that Östen has built up over many years. We are happy for the confidence", says Thomas Olsson, co-owner of Maskin Väst and responsible for the construction segment.
